'an outstanding school' Ofsted 2013
What we will be learning about and doing this week?
This week we will be reading another book by Mini grey called 'Traction man and the beach odyssey'. We will be exploring how instructions are written so we are able to write our own set of instructions. We will also be writing our own Traction man story.
In Maths we will be introducing multiplication by looking at identifying equal and unequal groups, to making equal groups and then moving onto adding equal groups to show repeated addition.
We would like you to practise spreading some kindness. Take a look at some of the kindness cards in you homework book and see how many you can complete. You can tell us what you've done by choosing one of the following:
A drawing of your kindness acts, using photographs, make a collage or write a song/poem about kindness.
Mathletics activities have been set involving groups relating to multiplication
Your Mathletics usernames & passwords can be found in your Reading record.
Spellings will be tested on Thursday 23rd November
Spelling books need to be signed and returned on or before Wednesday.

Reasons to Celebrate:
The children had a wonderful time at Madame Tussuads experiencing the 4D Marvel show to their amazing London ride.
Fun was had by all!
Children have been their scripts for the Nativity in a few weeks time. The children need to practise their words if they have any and ensure they bring their scrip in everyday. Some children may not have lines, however, they will be participating in a dance or scene.
Thank you for your support.
Date for the diary
The Year 2's will be visiting Kew Gardens on Wednesday 7th March 2018.
Please can you make sure that all your child's belongs such as uniform, jumper, water bottle to PE Kit are labelled before school starts as this will help us find the owners quickly if anything gets lost throughout the school day. Thank you
If you wish to provide your child with a snack, please ensure that it is fruit or vegetable based as we are a healthy school and would like to promote this.
Children are to be collected from the MUGA at 3.20pm.
If it is raining the children should be collected from the main playground entrance.
We encourage the children to bring in items related to our topic for show and tell every Friday for both classes. This is not on a rota basis and children are welcome to bring something each week.
These must be brought into school daily for we believe it to be a great support to growing minds! There are now a lot of children who tend to forget their bottles and unfortunately we do not have the time in class or adult support to continually fill up jugs.
Children will need their full PE kits on a Wednesday & Thursday for Squirrels and a Tuesday & Thursday for Badgers. If children do not have the correct kit they will be unable to take part in the activities.
If children cannot participate during a PE lesson, please can you kindly send an email or note notifying your class teacher. Thank you.
The children will now move over to the school's Accelerated Reader programme. This works slightly differently to the Oxford Reading Tree and so all children will need to be reassessed based on this scheme.
We would be very grateful for any donations of tissues for runny noses. Many thanks.
