What Have We Achieved This Week:
Wow! Another exciting week in Year 6! First, we need to congratulate our boys' football team, many of whom are in Year 6, on their incredible win at the Fulham FC football tournament. The boys were so excited when they came home with a shiny cup and so were we! The boys not only played well on the pitch but Mrs Channell said that their behaviour and attitude off the pitch was amazing too. As always, we were so proud of them.
In RE and PSHE we are continuing to tackle the highly sensitive subject of bereavement and grief. The children have astounded us with their reflective and mature handling of the topic: their kind and supportive natures have really come to the fore.
Finally, a quick reminder that there is a school trip coming up - we will be going to the Natural History Museum on Thursday 1st February.
Think about the images of different environments given to you and discuss with an adult at home interesting phrases and vocabulary to describe the environments. Note down any good descriptive phrases as we will be using these in our English work next week.
Your Art homework this week is to research and collect a variety of images to do with our topic of Natural Disasters. This could include art work (sketches/paintings/ collages), photographs, newspaper clippings, colour swatches and key vocabulary (you could collect letter clippings from magazines or newspapers).
