Holy Trinity CofE Primary School

Holy Trinity C of E Primary School

YEAR 6

This Week:

Well done on your fantastic Christmas advert ideas! We watched and analysed existing adverts thinking about structure, persuasive techniques and storyline. You then planned your own Christmas adverts thinking carefully to include lots of emotive and persuasive techniques.

In science this week, we’ve been planning and investigating the rate of respiration for yeast. We’ve investigated using different food types: exploring how the different food type impacts the rate of respiration. At home, can you explain your results? Were your predictions correct? What did we do to keep the test fair?

For Maths this week, we’ve been working hard on fractions, decimals and percentages! We’ve used visual models to help us see the relationships and we’ve applied our knowledge of fractions, decimals and percentages to problems involving measures.

Homework:

Talk Homework is due in on Mondays.

English and Maths Homework is due in Wednesdays.

Reading Diaries to be handed in Thursdays.

Talk

At home, discuss the differences between Wonder the book and Wonder the movie.  How many things did you spot that were different? Which did you prefer? Why?

English and Maths Homework

This week your homework has a Christmas theme!

Complete your Christmas themed homework on the sheet and hand it in on the normal day.

Extra

Please bring in around a meter piece of Christmas wrapping paper ready to make our Christmas cards next week. We need this for MONDAY.

PE
PE lessons will take place on a Tuesday and Thursday but please ensure PE kits are in school every day.

As it is now getting colder, feel free to adjust children's kit to a plain grey/navy/black sweatshirt and tracksuit bottoms.  No hoodies should be worn or any kit with large logos.

Thank you.

Reading/Homework Diaries
Diaries will need to be handed in on a  Thursday morning.

In terms of reading, we would like you to read every evening. However, you only need to make four entries in your diary. Please make sure that your diary is signed by someone at home before handing it in on Thursday.
